Medical aid & billing

Clear information before treatment

Our team will explain the practice billing policy and help with procedure pre-authorisation wherever possible.

Patient responsibility

Patients remain responsible for settling their medical accounts. Benefits, exclusions, co-payments and reimbursement rates differ between medical schemes and plan options.

Authorisation support

Where a procedure requires authorisation, our practice will assist with the relevant clinical information and motivation. Authorisation confirms that the scheme has considered the request; it does not necessarily guarantee full payment of every account.

Before your procedure

  • Confirm your available benefits directly with your medical scheme.
  • Ask whether the hospital and treating providers are designated service providers.
  • Review the practice billing policy and any quotations provided.
  • Check for co-payments, deductibles or shortfalls.

Please bring your details — Have your medical-aid membership information, identification and referral or authorisation documents available for every visit.
